Hospital History
The history of Kegalle District General Hospital dates back to 1930, with the first hospital established where the Kegalle Court Complex now stands. Over the decades, it has evolved significantly.
Hon. P.B.G. Kalugalla (1920–2007) played a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of our healthcare infrastructure. On 19th March 1965, the hospital was officially inaugurated at its current premises, marking the beginning of a modern era in healthcare for the Kegalle District.
